Paola Drera is a movement artist based in Brescia, Italy. Her work explores the endless possibilities of human connections and community-strenghtening practices.
Paola graduated with Honor from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, London (2017). She was awarded the Trinity Laban Award and pursued a Master's Degree in Dance Performance (2018). Her research focuses on developing dramaturgical tools to guide embodied creativity into performance.
As a dancer-performer she has collaborated with multidisciplinary companies such as HIMHERANDIT Productions (DK), Eleesha Drennan Dance (UK) and the National Dance Company Wales. She has also worked with choreographers including Arno Schuitemaker, Simona Bertozzi, Elisabetta Consonni, Lea Anderson, Charles Linehan, Éric Mihn Cuong Castaing, Hagit Yakira, and Jarkko Partanen, among others.
As a maker, Paola has been supported by Fuorimargine Center for Dance and Performing Arts Production in Sardinia and has presented her work internationally, such as at the Spoleto Festival dei Due Mondi (IT) and the Outsidein Festival (UK). Her practice extends to leading community projects across Europe and to sign the dramaturgy of 'Angriff' by William Cardoso.
Paola is a recipient of the residency programme Hylē as a point of view (2024), supported by Delta Pi Productions & Arts Management (Athens), which engages artists in cross-cultural exchange. The project is funded by The European Union, The Goethe-Institut, The Ministry of Culture in Greece and the Isadora Duncan Dance Research Center.
